How does Trade-Hive work?

Give as much detail as you can to help local tradespeople decide whether they are the right people to help you.

The first time you post a job, you will need to create a Trade-Hive account. This is so you can login and check responses to your job post.

Log in to your accounts to see which tradespeople have responded to your job. The beauty of Trade-Hive is that only tradespeople who have the skills and available to tackle your job will respond. No more ringing around only to find someone can’t help or is booked up for the next 6 months!

Once a local tradesperson has registered their interest in your job, you will be able to review their Trade-Hive profile and decide if you like the sound of them.

If you don’t think they’re the person for you, simply mark them as “declined”.

Using the contact details from their Trade-Hive profile, contact your chosen tradespeople to discuss your job in more detail. You can agree costs and next steps with your chosen tradesperson – and get the job done!

Once you’ve chosen the right tradesperson for you, log back into your Trade-Hive account and mark them as “approved” on your job. This helps us, you and the tradesperson keep track of how successful we’ve been in connecting the right people, and keeps your account area tidy.

Trade-Hive is free to use for both homeowners and tradespeople. This is, and will always be, something that sets us apart from similar services.

However, we were keen to find a way that Trade-Hive could do even more good. As such, we’ve partnered with UK military charity, Veterans’ Foundation, and invite you to make a donation.

Your donation will be split. 50% will go towards keeping Trade-Hive up and running. The other 50% will go directly to Veterans’ Foundation to support the excellent work they do.

Complete your registration online. It’s quick and completely free. Select only the service categories that you are interested in to ensure you see the jobs most relevant to you.

This is a key step. The strength of your profile will directly impact your success on Trade-Hive. Take the time to complete as many details as you can.

As homeowners in your area post jobs that fit your chosen service categories, these will appear on your dashboard. Review the jobs to find those you would be interested in.

Simply tick the “Apply” button next to the jobs you’re interested in. The person who posted the job will then be able to review your profile and decide if they want to make contact with you.

Homeowners who want to speak to you about their job will be in touch. Respond in a timely way to secure those jobs!
